The ARC presents their contribution of Energy Justice at the Arctic Science Summit Week in Japan.
At the end of April the International Arctic Science Committee held the ASSW (Arctic Science Summit Week) in the year of the Committee’s 25th anniversary in Toyama, Japan. The IASC is a network which sets the research agenda within the arctic to address the most pressing issues within the vulnerable region. The Arctic is subject to increasing energy related exploration activities resulting from higher accessibility of the region due to global warming. These activities come with environmental and social disruptions. The ARC added to the Arctic research agenda by presenting their line of research around Energy Justice. Energy Justice research is preoccupied with the social aspects of distributional, procedural and recognition justice dimensions resulting from different layers along the energy value chain.
